Earlier on Thursday, the US markets also closed weak. On Thursday, the Dow Jones Industrial fell by 178 points and closed at the level of 40712.78. The NASDAQ Composite saw a weakness of 300 points and closed at the level of 17619.35. While the S&P 500 index fell by about 50 points and closed at the level of 5570.64. The US markets remained in alert mode before the statement of Fed Chairman Jerome Powell in the Jackson Hole meeting.
Talking about Asia, GIFT NIFTY is down by 0.06 percent while Nikkei 225 is down by 0.25 percent. Strait Times is down by 0.06 percent while Hang Seng is down by 0.79 percent. Taiwan Weighted is down by 0.76 percent and KOSPI is down by 0.45 percent. While Shanghai Composite is down by 0.27 percent.

Brent crude above $77
