Stock Market Updates Today : Global signals are looking better for the domestic stock market today. Buying is being seen in major Asian markets in today’s trade. Earlier on Wednesday, the US markets closed with gains. On Wednesday, the Dow Jones Industrial rose by 125 points and closed at the level of 40861.71. The NASDAQ Composite rose by 370 points and closed at the level of 17395.53. The S&P 500 index rose by 59 points and closed at the level of 5554.13.
Talking about Asia, GIFT NIFTY is showing a slight weakness of 0.03 percent, while Nikkei 225 is showing a rise of 2.69 percent. Strait Times is showing a rise of 0.35 percent and Hang Seng is showing a rise of 0.73 percent. Taiwan Weighted is showing a rise of 3.13 percent, while KOSPI has strengthened by about 1.52 percent. Shanghai Composite is showing a weakness of 0.05 percent.

Today, on 12 September 2024, the stock list under F&O on NSE includes Aarti Industries, Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail (ABFRL), Balrampur Chini, Bandhan Bank, Chambal Fertilizers & Chemicals, Hindustan Copper and RBL Bank. While Biocon has been dropped from this list.

According to provisional data available on NSE, foreign portfolio investors (FIIs) were net buyers and bought shares worth Rs 1755 crore on September 11, 2024. On the other hand, domestic institutional investors (DIIs) were net sellers on Wednesday and sold shares worth Rs 230.90 crore.

US: Decrease in inflation rate
Inflation in the US has fallen to a three-and-a-half-year low. Retail inflation fell from 2.9 percent to 2.5 percent in August. Core inflation also remained stable at 3.2 percent as expected, although inflation increased by 0.3 percent on a monthly basis.
