Yonhap news agency reported that Korean police on the morning of December 11 entered Korean Yoon Suk Yeol’s office to search related to the declaration of martial law on December 3. Yonhap quoted Mr. Shin Yong-hae, leader of Mr. Kim’s detention center in eastern Seoul, as saying that after the failed suicide attempt, the former minister was taken to a strictly protected cell and his health was protected. he is still stable.
Mr. Shin said Mr. Kim stopped his actions when officials rushed to open the cell door. Previously, AFP quoted a Seoul Central District Court spokesman as saying that Mr. Kim was arrested amid concerns that related evidence might be destroyed.
Former Defense Minister Kim Yong-hyun was officially arrested on December 11 on charges of helping President Yoon rebel. Mr. Kim was the first person arrested in connection with the incident, according to Yonhap. President Yoon has been listed as a suspect and banned from traveling abroad.
