Sony launches LinkBuds, earphones with a hole and smart functionality

Sony has officially announced its new earphones, called LinkBuds: their particular shape provides a hole in the middle of the module that goes into the ear, so as to make the user always connected to the real world and listen to what is happening around without completely isolating himself. For this purpose, Sony has provided the headphones with an intelligent volume control: they are able to lower and raise it in a smart way according to the noise in the vicinity. In addition, the earphones can be controlled with a new gesture system, as they read touches and vibrations in an innovative way: it is possible to touch the earphone directly but also the ear or cheek, since the LinkBuds read vibrations in the vicinity.

The LinkBuds are equipped with a Sony V1 audio processor, the same seen in the top of the range WF-1000XM4 and support Sony DSEE technology. From the companion app of the headphones is available an equalizer to customize the sound in every detail. Bluetooth is in version 5.2 and the supported codecs are AAC, SBC and LDAC. The price is set at 180 euros and will be available this month for purchase.
