According to police, the accused Saeed Sheikh, 31, pushed the child from the Makkai bridge in Nunpura. On the day of the incident, the accused and his son Zakir Sheikh (12) had reached the bridge. But after a while, he survived, claiming that his son had fallen into the river and needed to be rescued. Locals then called the police and fire brigade. The accused told the locals and the police that his son was falling into the river while taking a selfie on the phone.
Defendant alleged that the child was taking a selfie on the arm of the bridge and fell down in the meantime. The police had initially registered a case for accidental death. The fire brigade found the boy’s body in the river. The body was handed over to the Rander Police. But the child’s mother came to the scene with a complaint against the child’s father. The couple are currently living apart.

He told police that he and his wife were living apart and that they had two children. His wife Hina alias Parveen Sheikh lives with her parents in Buldhana, Maharashtra. A child lives with his wife. Police also contacted Saeed’s wife as part of the investigation. However, the Indian Express reported that the woman had told the police that her husband may have killed the child.
Hina also registered a murder case against Saeed last Tuesday. The case came to a head when the police questioned him again. Saeed opened up about the incident in front of the police. Police arrested Saeed after he confessed to pushing his son off the bridge.

CI HS Chauhan of Rander Station said that Hina did not get close to anyone else as they started living apart. He asserted that his confession had been obtained through torture, and that his confession had been obtained through torture. Saeed had asked Hina to return to Hina in October last year but the woman refused to go with her husband. Police said he abducted the child and was fabricating a new story after the murder. Police said they are still investigating the incident.
