As a result of shelling by pro-Russian separatists in eastern Ukraine, a Ukrainian serviceman and a civilian were killed, and two more soldiers were injured.
According to the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the separatists violated the ceasefire 16 times over the past 24 hours.
The settlements of Nevelskoye, Vodyanskoye, Katerinovskoye, Maryika, Piski and New York were bombarded.
Crisis in eastern Ukraine
Protests in the Ukrainian capital Kiev began on November 21, 2013 after pro-Russian President Viktor Yanukovych refused to sign an Association Agreement with the European Union (EU).
Amid street and public protests, Yanukovych fled the country on February 22, 2014, and power passed to pro-Western politicians.
Following this, pro-Russian separatists declared so-called independence in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions in eastern Ukraine.
Since 2014, clashes in eastern Ukraine have killed over 13,000 people.
