Sidhu will continue as Punjab PCC president

New Delhi: Navjot Singh Sidhu will continue as Punjab PCC president. The decision was taken after discussions with Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal and Punjab Acting General Secretary Harish Rawat. Sidhu said the High Command would accept whatever decision was taken.

He shared his concerns with Highcommand. Sidhu said he was confident that whatever decision was taken by Sonia Gandhi, Rahul and Priyanka, it would be for the good of Punjab. He added that he would accept the decision of those in high positions in the Congress.

Sidhu Punjab announced his resignation from the PCC post on Twitter after Amarinder Singh was replaced by Charanjit Singh Channi as chief minister and the cabinet was reshuffled. Ministers also resigned in support of Sidhu. But Sidhu’s resignation was not accepted by the High Command.

Sidhu has said he will accept the decision of the Congress president. Sidhu will continue as PCC president. The official announcement will be made tomorrow, Harish Rawat said.

Meanwhile, former Chief Minister Amarinder Singh and Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh had met today. The meeting was held at Amarinder Singh’s farm house in Mohali. This is Amarinder Singh’s first meeting with Charanjit Singh after taking a public stand against the party.
