Many experts believe that the third wave can be even more dangerous and children may be at greater risk in this. That is why now vaccine trials are going to start for children. It is being told that the screening for the trial of Covaxin on children is going to start from Monday 7th June in Delhi AIIMS.
Trials will be held in AIIMS Delhi and Patna
Let us tell you that Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin was approved for trial on children. The Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) had approved the trial of COVAXIN for children in the age group of 2-18 years. After which it was said from the company that soon its trials on children would start.
Apart from AIIMS Delhi, trials will also start on children of Covaxin in Patna AIIMS. Although till now the date of start of the trial in Patna has not been given, but they can be started soon.
At present, a total of three vaccines have been approved for use in India. In which, at present, Covishield and Sputnik of Russia are not approved for trials on children. There is also talk of a Pfizer vaccine for children. Whose use has started on children in Canada and America.
States started preparations
Earlier, when all the experts had guessed that children could be most infected in the next wave of corona, because by then they would be the only ones in the entire population who would not have received the vaccine dose. The Supreme Court had also expressed concern about this and directed to take necessary steps regarding this. After this, many states have also started preparations for the third wave. Separate ICU beds are being prepared for children in the most affected Maharashtra.
