It has been reported that Turkey is the number one holiday destination for Russian tourists in the fall, and its share in package tour sales exceeds 95 percent.
In the statement made by the Russian Association of Tour Operators (ATOR), it was stated that in the period called “velvet season” in Russia in September-October, citizens still prefer Turkey.
Pointing out that Turkey will be preferred not only in velvet season but also in November with its nice weather and affordable prices, it was stated that Turkey’s share in package tour sales exceeded 95 percent.
It was stated that Russian tourists are especially in demand for holiday destinations in Antalya and the Aegean region, and as the holiday season comes to an end, the demand for tours in cities such as Istanbul will increase.
In the statement, it was noted that the demand for holiday destinations in Egypt, where scheduled flights resumed a while ago, remained at a low level.
