Russian security forces detained 5 Crimean Tatar Turks whose houses they raided in Crimea.
In a statement made by the Crimean Solidarity platform, it was reported that 5 Crimean Tatar Turks, whose homes were raided at around 05:00 local time, were detained by the Russian security forces.
Ukraine’s Deputy Foreign Minister Emine Ceppar shared on Twitter, “The policy of intimidation and persecution of the Russian invaders in Crimea continues.” made its assessment.
Noting that a new wave of raids was carried out on the houses of the Crimean Tatars in the morning, Ceppar stated that at least 5 people were detained and announced that their names were Rüstem Tairov, Cebbar Bekirov, Zaur Abdullayev, Raif Fevziyef and Rüstem Murasov.
Ukraine condemns Russian security forces raiding Tatar home in Crimea
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy reacted to the raids of the Russian security forces on the homes of the Crimean Tatar Turks.
Zelenskiy, in a statement on Twitter, stated that Russia has once again violated human rights in Crimea.
Reminding that the houses of the Crimean Tatars were raided and some people were detained this morning, Zelenskiy noted that these unacceptable persecutions should stop as soon as possible and those detained should be released.
Zelensky urged the international community to react to the violations.
In the statement made by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, the said raids were condemned and it was reported that this was a “provocation” before the Crimean Platform Summit to be held on August 23.
