New Delhi: The Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) meeting held on Friday to consider the Waqf Amendment Bill ended amid huge uproar. There was a heated exchange between members of Trinamool Congress (TMC) and BJP in the meeting. Opposition members raised objections to various provisions of the bill, forcing committee chairperson Jagdambika Pal to adjourn the meeting. Now the next meeting will be held on January 27.

During the meeting, Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP expressed his displeasure over the bill and called it against the rights of minorities. Speaker Jagdambika Pal alleged that the TMC MP used unparliamentary language. Opposition members reacted sharply to this.
