Organiser on Lok Sabha Elections 2024 Results and BJP: After the results of the Lok Sabha elections came out, one question has been in the news. The question is, did the RSS not work for the BJP in this Lok Sabha election? Many people answer this question in their own way. But what does the RSS itself have to say about this? There has been no formal response from the RSS on this. But an article published in the RSS-affiliated magazine Organiser has made frank comments on this issue. It has been said that the election results are going to make the ‘overconfident’ BJP face the truth. The article also says that these BJP leaders and workers remained immersed in the aura of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and ignored the voice of the common people rising from the streets. Earlier, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat has also made many such comments recently, which are being considered as a sign that all is not well between the RSS and the BJP.
RSS volunteers were not even contacted
According to this article published in the latest issue of ‘Organizer’, BJP leaders and workers did not even contact RSS volunteers to seek their cooperation in election related work. Also, those old dedicated workers were ignored who have been working without any greed till now. Article It says, “The results of the 2024 general elections are going to bring the overconfident BJP workers and many leaders face the truth. They did not realize that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for more than 400 seats was a target for them and a challenge for the opposition.” RSS lifelong member Ratan Sharda has written in his article that goals are achieved not by sharing posters and selfies on social media, but by hard work on the ground. He said, “Since they were engrossed in themselves, enjoying Modiji’s aura, they were not listening to the voice of the common man.”

RSS is not BJP’s ‘field force’
On the question of whether RSS worked for BJP in this election or not, Sharada has written, “I want to clearly state that RSS is not BJP’s ‘field force’. BJP is the world’s largest party and has its own workers. Regular election work like reaching out to voters, explaining the party’s agenda, distributing literature and voter cards are the responsibility of the party. RSS raises awareness among people about issues that affect them and the nation. Except for the period 1973-1977, RSS did not participate directly in politics.”

BJP people did not reach out to their ideological allies
The Sangh thinker has written, “This time also it was officially decided that RSS workers will organize small meetings of 10-15 people at local, mohalla, office level and request people to vote as a duty. Issues of nation building, national unity and support to nationalist forces were also discussed in it.” He has written that 1.20 lakh such meetings were organized in Delhi alone. “Apart from this, to get the cooperation of (RSS) volunteers in election work, BJP workers, local leaders needed to reach out to their ideological allies. But did they do so? I believe they did not do so.” In the article, he has said, “Was it a feeling of lethargy, comfort and overconfidence that ‘Aayega toh Modi hi, abki baar 400 paar? I don’t know…showing off by posting selfies has become more important.. If the people of BJP did not reach out to RSS and its volunteers, then they should tell why they felt that it was not needed?”

Did BJP suffer due to ‘unnecessary politics’?
In his article, the RSS thinker has cited ‘unnecessary politics’ as one of the many reasons behind the poor performance of the BJP in the Lok Sabha elections. He says that “Maharashtra is a prime example of unnecessary politics and manipulation that could have been avoided. The NCP led by Ajit Pawar also joined hands with the BJP, while the BJP and the divided Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) already had a majority. Sharad Pawar would have faded in two-three years because the NCP would have weakened due to its internal strife… In such a situation, why was this wrong step taken? This hurt the BJP supporters, because they had fought against the ideology of the Congress for years, they were persecuted. But the BJP reduced its brand value in one stroke. After years of struggle to become number one in Maharashtra, today it has become just another political party and that too without any separate identity.” Without naming any leader, Sharada has written that the inclusion of Congressmen in the BJP has ‘tarnished’ the image of the BJP and this has also ‘hurt a lot’ to those who sympathize with the RSS.
BJP got only 9 out of 48 seats in Maharashtra
BJP performed poorly in this election in Maharashtra. It could win only 9 out of 48 seats. Shinde-led Shiv Sena got seven seats and Ajit Pawar-led NCP got only one seat. In comparison, Congress won 13 Lok Sabha seats in the state, while Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena got 9 and Sharad Pawar’s NCP got 8 seats. BJP remained short of majority with 240 seats in the Lok Sabha elections. But the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) led by it got 293 seats. Congress got 99 seats and ‘India’ alliance got 234 seats. After two independent candidates announced to support Congress, the number of MPs of ‘India’ alliance has increased to 236.
