Roommate killed in dispute; The young man lay down after cleaning the room

Nagpur: A youth has been arrested for taking the life of a roommate in a minor dispute. The incident took place in Nagpur, Maharashtra. A 26-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the murder of a 35-year-old man, PTI news agency quoted police officials as saying.

According to police, the incident took place at Dabra in Nagpur on Sunday. Police said that on Saturday night, there was a dispute between Devansh Waghode and his roommate Raju Nandeshwar over a trivial matter. The two were staying in a rented room in the city. At the end of the argument, Devansh Waghode attacked Raju Nandeshwar with a sharp weapon. Police said Raju was stabbed in the head. He died at the scene. Devansh Raju’s body was then dumped in an empty field in the area. Police said the man was found lying in the room after the blood was removed and cleaned.

Both were employees of a nearby workshop. The incident came to light when some locals found Raju’s body in a vacant lot near their residence. He then informed the police and a case was registered against Devanshi. Devanshi has been charged with murder under the relevant sections of the IPC, police said.

Meanwhile, in Nagpur itself, a 19-year-old man allegedly killed a 25-year-old woman during torture. The incident took place near a cement pipe factory in the Dongargon area. Police said the woman died while trying to torture him. Amalesh Kumar Mandal (19) has been taken into police custody. Police have received information that the accused was looking at phone pictures on his mobile phone till just before the murder. The phone was seized by police and sent for forensic examination. The dead woman is married.

The police said that the accused had nails on the neck of the deceased woman and had bitten her on the lips. Police say there are signs of brutal rape on the body. The forensic team of the Indira Gandhi Government Medical College also collected body fluids from the body to ascertain whether rape had taken place. Police said he was sleeping in a room near the cement factory when police arrived at the scene to search for the accused. Information about the torture was obtained from CCTV footage of the factory premises.
