Rohit has become the second Indian batsman to reach 3,000 runs in international T20 cricket. Rohit is behind Virat Kohli. Kohli tops the list with 3,227 runs, followed by New Zealand’s Martin Guptill with 3,115 runs. Rohit has scored 3,001 runs so far. If he plays in the upcoming series against New Zealand, Rohit may overtake the runner-up.
Rohit is the fastest batsman to score 3,000 runs in international T20I. He is also the highest run scorer for India in the T20 World Cups. Rohit also holds the record for most catches by an Indian in T20I. Rohit was the player who scored the most runs when the team won. Rohit’s 2,388 runs were also scored when the team won.
Virat Kohli is stepping down as T20 captain with the match against Namibia. Rohit Sharma will be the new captain of India. Kohli will take over the captaincy from MS Dhoni in 2017. Kohli then went on to win series against England, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. Kohli is the second best captain behind Dhoni.
