Haluk Görgün, President of the Presidency of Defense Industries, visited the area where the Rocket Competition, which offers young people the opportunity to experience in the field of space technologies, was closely interested in the youth and received information about their projects.

Commenting on the competitions held within the scope of TEKNOFEST, SSB President Görgün said:
“Our young people are trying to present the theoretical and practical knowledge they have acquired at universities with these platforms and competition environments, with studies that are closer to real life. It is an important advantage for our companies operating in engineering that these friends of ours are trained in this way. We expect our young people to grow up in the best way possible and take part in both our universities and technology companies.”
While the interest of young people in the Rocket Competition, which was held for the first time in 2018 within the scope of TEKNOFEST Technology Competitions, continues every year, young people who use their science and engineering knowledge in different fields achieve rocket design, production and integration by thinking interdisciplinary and planning complex operations and processes.
The Rocket Competition is organized in 5 different categories.
Rocket Competition, which is among the most remarkable competitions within the scope of TEKNOFEST 2023, this year four different categories: High Altitude (4 thousand feet), Medium Altitude (8 thousand feet), High Altitude (18 thousand feet) and Challenging Mission (7 thousand 500 feet). organized by category. This year, 1098 teams applied to the Rocket Competition, where the number of applications increases every year, and 612 competitors with 64 teams qualified for the finals.
High school, associate, undergraduate and graduate students and graduates participate in the competition, which provides young people with a unique technology adventure as well as an important step in their aviation career, team spirit and the achievements of being a team. Within the scope of TEKNOFEST 2023, the total prize was determined as 1 million 140 thousand TL in the Rocket Competition, where the awards were multiplied this year.
