Rishabh Pant broke Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s big record, became the fastest Indian wicketkeeper to score a hundred

Indian wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant has broken a big record of Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Pant has become the fastest Indian wicketkeeper to hit 100 in Test cricket. He achieved this feat against South Africa on the third day of the Boxing Day Test match being played at Centurion.

Pant made this record by catching Temba Bavuma. He achieved this milestone in his 26th Test (50th innings). Pant left Dhoni far behind, who completed 100 wickets in 36 Tests.

South Africa’s wicketkeeper Quinton de Kock is at the forefront of this list, who completed his century in just 22 matches. Pant is the sixth wicket-keeper for India to have 100 wickets in Test cricket. Before him Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Syed Kirmani, Kiran More, Nayan Mongia and Wriddhiman Saha have completed centuries. Dhoni is the most successful wicketkeeper of India. He has 294 test wickets to his name.

In January 2021, Pant broke Dhoni’s record for the fastest 1000 Test runs by an Indian wicketkeeper.
