RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das discharged from hospital, was admitted due to acidity
Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Shaktikanta Das has been discharged from the hospital on Tuesday. He was admitted to a private hospital in Chennai last night due to acidity related complaint. A Reserve Bank of India spokesperson said that Das is now fine and has been discharged from the hospital. Das was admitted to Apollo Hospitals in Chennai for observation on Monday night after suffering from acidity related problem.

Reserve Bank of India Governor Shaktikanta Das, who was admitted to a private hospital in Chennai last night due to acidity related complaint, was discharged on Tuesday. A Reserve Bank of India spokesperson said that Das is now fine and has been discharged from the hospital. Das was admitted to Apollo Hospitals in Chennai for observation on Monday night after suffering from acidity related problem.
It is noteworthy that Shaktikanta Das has been serving as the 25th Governor of the Reserve Bank of India since December 12, 2018. He has more than four decades of experience in governance. Prior to his appointment, Das held important roles including serving as a member of the 15th Finance Commission and India’s G20 Sherpa.
An experienced administrator, Das has held key positions in the central and state governments, overseeing areas such as finance, taxation, industry and infrastructure. Notably, during his tenure in the Finance Ministry, he played a key role in the preparation of eight Union Budgets, thereby contributing to India’s fiscal policy making.
