A shocking incident has come to light in Karauli district of Rajasthan. Here some people burnt a priest alive over a land dispute. It is reported that these people tried to burn the priest alive by pouring petrol on them, in which the priest got badly burnt, shortly after being admitted to the hospital, the priest died. Union Minister Prakash Javadekar strongly targeted the Rajasthan government over this matter and said that such incidents are increasing continuously in the state.
Wanted to occupy the priest’s land
According to the NDTV report, the priest had about 13 bighas (around 5.2 acres) of land, which was given to him by the temple trust. It has been told that when the priest tried to build a house on his land, some people opposed it and called this land as their own. Seeing the matter growing, the priest complained to the elders involved in the village panchayat, who ruled in favor of the priest and said that the land belongs to the priest.
But even after this decision, some domineering people of Meena community started some construction work on that land. After which the dispute increased. The priest had planted millet on this land, on which these people put petrol and set it on fire. Before dying, the temple priest told that these people set fire on me by pouring petrol on them.
BJP leaders attack Rahul Gandhi
Now the opposition party is attacking the Gehlot government regarding this whole matter. After the incidents of rape a few days ago, now this case has come to the fore.
Union Minister Prakash Javadekar said that “Apart from political tourism, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi should also take cognizance of the events happening in Rajasthan. He said that some goons murdered a priest in Karauli for land grabbing, incidents of rape have come to light from many places in the state. Javadekar said that Rahul Gandhi should ask the Chief Minister of Rajasthan to resign.”
Javadekar’s BJP leader Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore also attacked the Rajasthan government over the matter. He said that no one is safe in Rajasthan today. Then whether they are children, women and now priests too. Rajasthan’s name is getting spoiled. Even according to NCRB data, Rajasthan comes first in the case of women crime. I want to say to Rahul Gandhi, those who are busy in political tourism in BJP ruled states, they should also pay attention to Rajasthan.
