LAHORE: A radical Islamist party in Pakistan has intensified its activity on the minority Ahmadi faction. On Monday, a religious organization alleged that the party had blocked members of the group from making special prayers in several cities in Punjab on Friday and harassed them. Earlier on Friday, Tehreek A Labayik Pakistan (TLP) members of Punjab, Faisalabad, Sargodha, Layaah, Gujranwala, Siyalkot, Bahawalpur, and Ahmadi districts in Punjab, on Friday, ‘ Pakistan (JAP) informed Ahmadiya. They also chanted slogans against the Ahmad. They mentioned the Ahmadis as unclean.
They called for the seal of the Ahmadi prayer halls. TLP members said they would go back until the police promised that they would seal the Ahmadi prayers when they reached those places and that they would file cases against them on Friday. However, the police brought the situation under control. Police have assured TLP protesters that they will seal the places of prayer. With the assurance of the police, the protesters left. Earlier, 45 people were arrested for praying in Karachi and Duska on Friday for allegedly registering 60 Ahmadi.
