although the movie “Snow White”new version of the studio film Disney “Snow White and the seven dwarfs” (“Snow White and the Seven Dwarves”) is not released yet, already It has begun to generate controversy due to the changes that the company has made both in the plot and in the cast selection. It all started when the actress Rachel Zegler -protagonist of remake– he said the original tape was not to his likingand that it focused on a love story between the protagonist “and a guy who literally harasses her.”
Now David Handthe son of one of the directors of the 1937 film, commented to The Telegraph that is against the changes made for the new version: “It’s a completely different concept and I totally disagree with it, and I know my father and Walt (Disney) would also strongly disagree with that…(The company) is trying to do something new with something that was so successful before …His thoughts are so radical now. They change the stories, they change the thought process of the characters…they are inventing new things and I don’t like any of it. Frankly, I find it a bit insulting what they may have done to some of these classic movies.…There is no respect for what Disney did and what my dad did…I think he and Walt would be turning in their graves.”
So far, neither the Disney company nor Zegler have commented on Hand’s comments. “Snow White and the seven dwarfs” is considered an all-time classic, and the new version (in which they also star gal gadot and ansu kabia) will be released in the United States on March 22, 2024; the script was written by Erin Cressida Wilson and Greta Gerwigthe latter the director of “Barbie”one of the biggest movie hits this year.
