Prime Minister’s Adviser Amarjeet Sinha resigns

New Delhi: Amarjeet Sinha, one of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s advisers, has resigned. He resigned on Monday, PTI reported.

In February 2020, he was appointed Adviser to the Prime Minister. The appointment was made with Bhaskar Khulbe. Sinha, a 1983 batch IAS officer, was in the Bihar cadre. After his retirement as Secretary to the Ministry of Rural Development, he was appointed Adviser to the Prime Minister.

Amarjeet Sinha is the second highest-ranking official to resign from the PM ‘s office recently, the Times of India reported. PK Sinha, the former principal secretary, resigned in March. He said the resignation was for personal reasons.

No official statement has been released on Amarjeet Sinha’s resignation. Meanwhile, the Hindustan Times reported that sources had confirmed that Sinha was resigning after 17 months in the PM’s office.
