Prime Minister Narendra Modi has written a letter to NASA’s astronaut Sunita Williams to come to India. While sharing this letter, Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh informed that the Prime Minister wished Sunita Williams a safe comeback and expressed affection and pride towards him.
The Prime Minister wrote in the letter, “Even though you are thousands of miles away, but you are very close to our hearts.” He said that the whole of India is proud of his achievements and is praying for his good health and success of missions. In the letter, Prime Minister Modi shared that during a recent event he met the famous astronaut Mike Mesimino, where Sunita Williams was mentioned. He wrote, “We are proud of you and your actions, and after this discussion I could not stop myself from writing letters.”
The Prime Minister also stated that during his visit to America, whether he met President Donald Trump or President who Biden, he always asked about Sunita Williams’ skill and goodness. His family was also remembered in the letter. PM Modi wrote that the wishes of the late Deepakbhai are always with him and his mother, Boney Pandya, will definitely be waiting for his return.
Finally, the Prime Minister wished Sunita Williams and his co-interpreter Barry Wilmore a safe comeback and said that India is eager to host him. He wrote, “It would be a matter of pride for India to welcome one of his prestigious daughters.”
Indian -origin American astronaut Sunita Williams has done space trips several times and has completed significant missions at the international space station. She has a deep association with India, and has come to India many times and has inspired the youth here.
This letter of Prime Minister Modi is considered to be an important indication towards India’s growing reputation and global relations in the field of space and science.
