Altun shared the video prepared by the Presidency of Communications regarding Cengiz Topel on his Twitter account. In the video, it was pointed out that with the establishment of the Republic of Cyprus in 1960, the persecution and oppression of the Turkish people on the island increased, and it was stated that the only hope of the Turks trapped in the Greek Cypriot circle was the help from Turkey.
In the video, it was reported that the arm led by Cengiz Topel took off from Eskişehir and reached Erenköy. In the video, where it is stated that Topel, who jumped with a parachute at the last moment, was taken prisoner by the Greeks, it was explained that Topel, who was subjected to terrible torture, lost his life.
In the video, it was emphasized that all streets, parks, schools and hospitals bearing the name of Topel are the indicators of the endless respect the Turkish nation has for Captain Topel.
