At the Vienna International Airport, the President of Georgia was met by representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Austrian Republic.
According to the Georgian Ambassador to Austria Ketevan Tsikhelashvili, the first official visit of the Georgian President to Austria is a very important positive impetus for the dynamics of relations between the two countries.
“Within the framework of this visit, meetings will be held with the OSCE Secretary General, as well as with a group of women ambassadors to the OSCE. The President is very interested in promoting the Women, Peace, Security agenda at the international level and, of course, within the OSCE. This is directly related to the most important challenge for us – the peaceful settlement of the conflict and the security of the population. “Naturally, the participation of women leaders would further facilitate this task,” Tsikhelashvili said.
The official welcoming ceremony for the President of Georgia will take place on October 12 at the Hofburg Palace, followed by a bilateral meeting of the presidents of the two countries.
An expanded meeting of the presidents and a press conference are planned. There will also be a Georgian-Austrian business forum, which will be attended by Georgian and Austrian companies.
