President Draupadi Murmu hoisted the national flag on the duty path on the occasion of 76th Republic Day. After this the national anthem and 21 gun salute was given. Earlier, PM Modi welcomed President Draupadi Murmu and Indonesian President Prabowo on the path of duty for the ceremony. President Subianto attended the ceremony as the chief guest this year.

Today India is showing its strength to the world. This year the main theme of the celebrations is the 75th anniversary of the Constitution, the theme of the tableaux is ‘Golden India: Heritage and Development’. Today, 16 tableaux of various states and union territories and 15 tableaux of central ministries, departments and organizations will be displayed in the parade.
Know what was special in the ceremony
- In the 76th Republic Day parade, a tableau of ex-servicemen of the Indian Armed Forces marched on the duty path. The theme of this tableau is ‘Always moving towards a developed India’.
- Indian Navy tableau took part in the 76th Republic Day parade. Which shows a strong ‘self-reliant’ navy and is capable of protecting India’s maritime interests and demonstrating India’s maritime power for thousands of miles.

- The marching contingent consisting of the 190-member Band Gendrang Suling Kanka Lokananta of the Indonesian Military Academy and 152 personnel from all branches of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) marched on the duty path on the 76th Republic Day.
- A group of 300 artists are playing tunes with a mix of indigenous instruments in the 76th Republic Day parade. The Ministry of Culture has brought together this group of instruments which includes a wide mix of wind and percussion instruments.
- The first aerial formation of the 76th Republic Day, ‘Flag Formation’. Mi-17 1V helicopters of 129 Helicopter Unit are flying from the sky carrying the national flag as well as the respective service flags of the Army, Navy and Air Force and showering flowers.
