Election strategist Prashant Kishore has questioned the PMO’s announcement for children orphaned from Corona. Prashant Kishore says that when the children need immediate help, the Modi government is only making promises at such a time. He says that such a reaction from the government shows that things are not being handled properly.
Prashant Kishore quips on the allowance he gets after completing 18 years.
He wrote sarcastically on Modi government, “Another typical MasterStroke by ModiSarkar, this time redefining EMPATHY and CARE for children ravaged by Covid and its catastrophic mishandling”.
Citing a press release announcing the PM Cares help, he made the sarcasm: “Instead of receiving much needed support NOW, the children should feel POSITIVE about a PROMISE of stipend when they turn 18”.
He further wrote that “Be grateful to PMCares for PROMISE of free education; a RIGHT guaranteed by the Constitution/RTE.”
Took a pin on the lack of beds and oxygen as well
Prashant Kishore also took a dig at the PMO for the lack of oxygen caused at the start of the second wave of epidemic in the country. He wrote to the PMO saying ‘Thank you, “Thank PMOIndia for ASSURANCE to be enrolled in Ayushman Bharat that supposedly covers healthcare needs of 50Cr Indians but only FAILED to provide bed/oxygen when needed.“
What plans were presented by PM Cares?
The Prime Minister has announced several schemes from the PM Care Fund to help the children orphaned due to the coronavirus pandemic. Under this, children who have been orphaned due to corona will be given a monthly allowance when they are 18 years old and on reaching the age of 23 years, 10 lakh rupees will also be given by the PM Cares Fund. Apart from this, these orphans will also be given free health insurance till the age of 18 years and help in getting loans for higher education.
