PM Modi laid emphasis on electric buses and solar energy in Delhi, paid tribute to Subhash Chandra Bose
Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with students in the Central Hall of the Old Parliament House on Thursday. During the conversation, the PM discussed environmental protection and the ideas of freedom fighter Subhash Chandra Bose with the students. On this occasion, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and other dignitaries paid tribute to Netaji on his birth anniversary.
During the interaction, the Prime Minister emphasized the government’s initiatives to reduce the carbon footprint of the national capital. He said that due to the efforts of the Central Government, more than 1,200 electric buses are running in Delhi, which are playing an important role in pollution control. He said that more electric buses will be introduced in the coming time.
Referring to ‘PM Suryagarh Yojana’, PM Modi said that under this scheme, solar panels are being installed on the roofs of houses. This is not only reducing electricity bills, but is also providing the option of charging e-vehicles and selling excess electricity to the government.
During the conversation, PM Modi questioned a child as to which slogan of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose inspires him the most. In response the student mentioned “You give me blood, I will give you freedom”. The Prime Minister said that this dedication of Bose inspires every citizen and this spirit encourages to work towards the development of the country and environmental protection.
The Prime Minister appealed to the students to raise awareness to tackle climate change and contribute to the government’s green initiatives.
