Changes ahead for the PlayStation Plus service, which from May 21st will say goodbye to 24 games in the Extra and Premium library. Among the various titles there are indies appreciated by the public and various triple-A games, but above all several episodes of the Final Fantasy saga, recently returned to the fore with the critical and public success of the new Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. And Final Fantasy VII, the original episode, will be archived by PS Plus starting next month. For this, as for the other games in question, it will still be possible to continue playing by purchasing the title in full version from the PS Store.
From May 21st Final Fantasy VIII Remastered, Final Fantasy IX, Final Fantasy X-2, Final Fantasy XII The Zodiac Age, Final Fantasy XV Royal Edition and the spin-off World of Final Fantasy. Meanwhile, despite its success in reviews, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is reportedly performing worse than Final Fantasy VII Remake, released in 2020, at least on the market. Square Enix, the publisher of the series, has not yet revealed official numbers, but according to analysts the ratio of games sold between Remake and Rebirth would be 2 to 1.
