On Sunday, a major plane accident took place in Brazil where a small plane carrying 10 passengers crashed, in which all 10 passengers were reported killed. Civil and defense officials have confirmed this.
Governor Eduardo Leite shared his condolences and response efforts on social media, saying, “I am monitoring the tragic plane crash in Gramado with state security forces. All the personnel of Municipality and Canela are deployed to assist. “I am also going to the site to monitor the operation.” Local authorities and emergency teams are working at the scene to control the situation and investigate the cause of the accident.
Leight also mentioned, “The immediate focus is on securing the area and providing care to the injured. “Sadly, initial reports indicate that those on board the aircraft may not survive.”
Reuters quoted officials as saying that the plane first hit the chimney of a building, then fell on the second floor of a house and ultimately crashed into a furniture store. The debris of the accident also reached a nearby inn.
