Phan Dang Hoang officially launches the collection Ceramics in Milan Fashion Week . As the only Vietnamese designer to attend this prestigious event, he said he was proud that his designs were launched at a historic location in Italy. The show featured Chau Bui, Quynh Anh Shyn, Larissa Minatto, Carmelo Corvaia…
According to Phan Dang Hoang, Ceramics is a combination of two sources of inspiration: silk paintings by famous painter Nguyen Phan Chanh and ceramic sculptures. Through that, the collection recreates the gentleness and personality of Vietnamese women 100 years ago.
For the 24-year-old designer, there is always consistency between collections not only in inspiration but also in the characteristics of shape and structure. The scarf-tied and cut-out details on the soft silk material also match the spirit in the works of famous painter Nguyen Phan Chanh.
Throughout the creative process, the young designer applies techniques of attaching, dyeing, embroidering, pleating… to soft materials such as chiffon, organza, silk… to “strong” materials such as demin, leather…
The color palette has a “mother earth” vibe, like the message that Phan Dang Hoang wants to convey about the simple, sustainable inspiration in the collection that blends Streetwear and Haute Couture elements.
Phan Dang Hoang also honors the passionate and persistent creative journey of Vietnamese artists. The costumes in Ceramics are like a film that recreates the feelings of artists in general and fashion designers in particular, with the desire to create works that last forever.
The women in Phan Dang Hoang’s collection are a fusion of tradition and modernity, with a unique, liberal and creative spirit. They constantly assert themselves, shining with confidence.
Ceramics is also a “handshake” between the designer born in 2000 and the Hangsilk brand. Through it, he wants to convey the image of a strong, free woman who always knows how to blend the beauty and virtues of women in the past with the strong desire to rise up of women in the modern era.
