The 16th Paralympic Games have ended in Tokyo, the capital of Japan.
The Tokyo 2020 Paralympics have been held since August 24, due to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, without spectators.
The closing ceremony at the Olympic Stadium was also held in front of empty stands.
A parade of participating countries took place. The Turkish flag was carried by Aishegul Pehlivanlar, who won silver in the final of the air pistol shooting from 10 meters (P2).
At the conclusion of the show, with music, dance, performances and fireworks, the Paralympic flame was extinguished.
The Paralympic Games – 2020 in Tokyo became the most successful for Turkey in the history of the country’s participation in this sporting event.
Turkey was represented at the Tokyo Paralympics for the 7th time, 87 athletes in 13 disciplines competed for the country.
The Turkish Paralympians have achieved historic success with 15 medals – 2 gold, 4 silver and 9 bronzes.
