A Palestinian journalist was wounded on Wednesday evening by Israeli army fire east of Nablus in the northern West Bank.

The Palestinian Journalists Union said in a statement that photojournalist Nasser Shtayyeh was shot in the head by the Israeli army in the village of Deir al-Hatab, east of Nablus.

The said Union condemned “the attacks by the occupying forces carried out today against journalists in the village of Deir al-Hatab who were targeted by bullets from metal covered with rubber.”

For his part, a journalistic source who requested anonymity told Anadolu Agency that journalist Shtayyeh was shot in the head during a raid carried out by Israeli forces on Wednesday evening in the village of Deir al. -Hatab, east of Nablus, and had received, on the spot, the necessary care by the teams of the Palestinian Red Crescent (non-governmental).

The same source also said that an Israeli force broke into the village of Deir al-Hatab and clashes broke out with young Palestinians, in which the occupation forces fired live ammunition and others. metal covered in rubber, as well as tear gas canisters and stun grenades.

Israeli forces generally storm towns and villages in the West Bank, arresting citizens on the pretext that they are wanted by security forces.
