Residents of Pakistan on Saturday celebrate the 74th anniversary of the independence of the Islamic Republic.
The founding father of the republic, Muhammad Ali Jinnah, declared the independence of Pakistan on August 14, 1947.
Massive celebrations take place in various parts of the Asian country. Avenues and city streets are painted in the colors of the Pakistani flag.
As part of the celebrations, 31 artillery shots were fired in Islamabad, and 21 in four provinces.
At the memorials of Jinne – “Mazar-Qaid” in Karachi and the Pakistani poet Muhammad Iqbal “Mazar-Iqbal” in Lahore, events were held with the participation of the military.
The venues of the events were disinfected in advance, the participants were obliged to wear masks and maintain social distance.
