PAK vs AUS: History has not changed even after 24 years, Australia won the series by entering Pakistan’s house

Lahore: Australia toured Pakistan after 24 years. Times changed, but the result remained the same. Kangaroos have won the three-match Test series by 1-0 (Australia won test series vs Pakistan). Chasing a target of 351 on the fifth and final day of the third, final and deciding Test in Lahore, Pakistan’s innings was reduced to 235 runs. Thus Australia won the match and series by a huge margin of 115 runs.

This is only Australia’s third Test series win in Pakistan, that too after a lot of hard work. When he last toured Pakistan in 1998, the decision was still 1-0. The last two Tests at that time ended in a draw. This time the first two Test matches ended in a draw, but Australia dominated in the third. Pat Cummins emerged as a fine captain. Five-wicket haul spinner Nathan Lyon had a tough time playing today.

Today, on the fifth day of the match, till the T-session itself, Pakistan had lost five wickets in their second innings. Only 190 runs were on the scoreboard. Pakistan captain Babar Azam was playing after scoring 46 runs, so it was expected that the hosts would save the match like the Karachi Test by playing 37 overs somehow. Because the remaining 161 runs were looking difficult to win.

Just after the T-session, when the team’s score was 213 runs, Babar Azam, who was playing on 55, was out, there was a flurry of wickets as soon as he left. No Pakistani batsman could stay on the crease. The entire team was out within 22 runs. Earlier, Australia had declared their second innings on the fourth day of the match after scoring 227 runs for three wickets.
