As part of a mass vaccination campaign launched in Turkey on January 14, more than 94.8 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered. This is stated in the message of the Ministry of Health of the republic on Wednesday.
According to the ministry, a total of over 48.56 million people received the first doses, and more than 37.36 million citizens were fully vaccinated.
Over the past day, 15,164 more patients have recovered from a dangerous illness.
Another 23 946 cases of infection and 290 deaths were recorded.
The pandemic began with the discovery of the first cases of pneumonia of unknown origin in Wuhan, Hubei province in central China at the end of December 2019.
On December 31, 2019, the Chinese authorities informed the World Health Organization (WHO) about the outbreak of unknown pneumonia.
