Over 116.4 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine introduced in Turkey


More than 116.48 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered as part of a mass vaccination campaign launched in Turkey on January 14. This is stated in the message of the Ministry of Health of the republic on Monday.

According to the ministry, a total of over 55.43 million people received the first doses, and about 48.75 million citizens were fully vaccinated.

Over the past day, another 29,296 patients have recovered from a dangerous illness.

Another 28,678 cases of infection and 217 deaths were recorded.

The pandemic began with the discovery of the first cases of pneumonia of unknown origin in Wuhan, Hubei province in central China at the end of December 2019.

On December 31, 2019, the Chinese authorities informed the World Health Organization (WHO) about the outbreak of unknown pneumonia.
