Over 110.3 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine introduced in Turkey


More than 110.3 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered as part of a mass vaccination campaign launched in Turkey on January 14. This is stated in the message of the Ministry of Health of the republic on Sunday.

According to the ministry, a total of over 54 million people received the first doses, and about 45 million people were fully vaccinated.

Over the past day, another 22,004 patients have recovered from a dangerous illness.

Another 27 351 cases of infection and 194 deaths were recorded.

The pandemic began with the discovery of the first cases of pneumonia of unknown origin in Wuhan, Hubei province in central China at the end of December 2019.

On December 31, 2019, the Chinese authorities informed the World Health Organization (WHO) about the outbreak of unknown pneumonia.
