Over 106.5 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine introduced in Turkey


More than 106.5 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered as part of a mass vaccination campaign launched in Turkey on January 14. This is stated in the message of the Ministry of Health of the republic on Wednesday.

According to the ministry, a total of over 53 million people received the first doses, and more than 42.7 million people were fully vaccinated.

Over the past day, 23,096 more patients have recovered from a dangerous illness.

Recorded another 28 168 cases of infection and 242 deaths.

The pandemic began with the discovery of the first cases of pneumonia of unknown origin in Wuhan, Hubei province in central China at the end of December 2019.

On December 31, 2019, the Chinese authorities informed the World Health Organization (WHO) about the outbreak of unknown pneumonia.
