- MT Ramesh indirectly criticizes the leadership.
- The response came via a Facebook post.
- Ramesh’s post comes amid continuing controversy in the BJP.
His response was that comprehensive change and transformation is possible only with mature and experienced leadership. His remark was made in the Jayaprakash Narayanan memorial Facebook post.
The democratic history of the country would not be complete without remembering the revolutionary leader Jayaprakash Narayanan who touched the Indian youth in the seventies. The devaluation of politics, widespread corruption, unemployment and drought had sparked strong protests among young people in the early 1970s. Colleges and universities became battlefields. In a Facebook post, MT Ramesh said that Jayaprakash Narayan was the leader who gave ideological direction to these struggles and introduced the idea of a complete revolution among the youth.
Jayaprakash Narayanan’s slogan ‘Strike, let the jails be filled’ was adopted by the Indian youth. He was imprisoned in 1975 during the Emergency. After the Emergency in 1977, it was JP who united the opposition behind the Janata Party. MT Ramesh opined that Jayaprakash Narayanan, born in 1902, stood for democracy and the welfare of the people till his death. Became a model for public action without showing any inclination towards power. At the age of seventy-five, he was able to inspire and guide young people. His experience and maturity from the time of the freedom struggle helped him. He said that the experience and maturity of the JP had helped the militant youth to lead the struggle without making any mistakes.
Comprehensive change and transformation is possible only with mature and experienced leadership. When the Janata Party came to power in 1977, he could have even accepted the post of Prime Minister. However, General Secretary MT Ramesh said in a Facebook post that maturity is the name given by a leader who leads others to positions and holds hands without being attracted to positions and powers.
A few days ago, MT Ramesh had criticized that those who work in the organization forget the moral sense in the cold of power. MT Ramesh’s indirect criticism came in a Facebook post commemorating Dean Dayal Upadhyay’s birthday. His reference was to the fact that Deenadayalji’s memoirs would be able to regain the forgotten moral consciousness of those working in the organization in the cold of power. However, K Surendran said that he had not seen MT Ramesh’s Facebook post.
