Wednesday morning also remained extremely cold in North India; popular tourist destinations like Srinagar and Shimla did not receive the usual snowfall on Christmas. Srinagar recorded a minimum temperature of minus 7.3 degrees Celsius, while Tabo in Himachal Pradesh’s Lahaul and Spiti district was the coldest place in the state, with the temperature dropping to minus 10.6 degrees Celsius.
Due to dense fog, 18 trains coming to Delhi from different parts of the country are running late.
The maximum temperature in Delhi on December 25 reached 22.4 degrees Celsius, which was 2 degrees Celsius above the seasonal average, while the minimum temperature was 8.4 degrees Celsius, about 1.5 degrees Celsius below normal. Despite low visibility at Delhi airport, flight operations continued without any disruption.
Rajasthan remained in the grip of dense fog, with light rain in eastern parts and a cold day was recorded in some areas of the western part of the state.
Fog has engulfed some parts of the national capital, according to IMD the minimum temperature dropped to 7 degrees Celsius.
