At least 25 children were killed and 14 others injured on Monday in a fire at a nursery school in Maradi, southern Niger, authorities said.

“The Nigerien people have learned with dismay and indignation of the fire at the AFN school in Maradi which occurred on Monday, November 8 at around noon,” announced a government statement released on Monday evening and consulted by the Anadolu Agency.

“The provisional toll of this fire shows 25 children died and 14 injured, including 5 in serious condition,” added the same source.
