Xuan Son shared with many emotions
After many days of waiting, striker Nguyen Xuan Son is about to make his debut for the Vietnamese team. The World Football Federation (FIFA) has granted permission for the Brazilian-born striker to play for the national team from December 20, after living in Vietnam for 5 years. Thus, Xuan Son can make his debut in the match against Myanmar on the evening of December 21.
“I’m very nervous and excited for tomorrow’s match. It’s true that traveling makes me very tired, but now we are focused and working hard together to aim for victory,” striker Nguyen Xuan said. Son affirmed.
Xuan Son started his relationship with the V-League in 2020 with a contract to play for Nam Dinh Club. He played for Nam Dinh, Da Nang, Binh Dinh, before returning to Nam Dinh last season. With 31 goals in 26 matches, Nguyen Xuan Son was the V-League top scorer last season.
After a slow start this season, Xuan Son has accelerated with 7 goals in 7 matches. His name was added to the preliminary list by coach Kim Sang-sik, then on the shortlist of the Vietnamese team.
“This is a wonderful moment and I feel happy to be in the Vietnamese team shirt. I am very happy to receive the support of all team members. I will try to prepare well for tomorrow’s match to bring joy to the fans,” Xuan Son commented.
