After a year filled with elections, political unrest and conflict, the world on Tuesday night welcomed the New Year 2025 with vibrant celebrations, cultural programs and a sense of hope.
Around the world, people gathered in large numbers to enjoy spectacular fireworks displays, cultural performances, live music and themed decorations. In India, New Year celebrations began with grand parties and crowded celebrations in cities.
In Delhi, popular places like India Gate, Hauz Khas, Connaught Place and Lajpat Nagar were filled with people enjoying the festivities.
New Year celebrations were seen in Delhi as well as in most of the cities of the country including Kolkata, Chandigarh, Mumbai, and Chennai. People looked very excited to welcome the New Year. As soon as the clock struck 12 in the night, people were seen congratulating each other saying Happy New Year. There were huge fireworks on this occasion. Crowds of people were seen on the roads also. People looked very happy on the occasion of New Year celebrations.
On one hand, while New Year was being celebrated in different parts of the country, amid the celebrations, security arrangements were seen to be very tight in different cities of the country including Delhi. Police personnel were seen checking vehicles at various places and ensuring that no one was driving under the influence of alcohol amid this celebration. Or no crime of any kind is being committed. On the night of celebration in the country, police also issued challan to drunk people. Strict action has also been taken against those who tried to create ruckus on the occasion of New Year celebrations.
