What is Form 6-A i.e. new pension form?
For the convenience of employees retiring from central government jobs, on August 30 this year, the government launched a single simplified form i.e. Form 6-A. The new pension form has been created by combining 9 different forms. Which includes old forms 6, 8, 4, 3, A, Format 1, Format 9, FMA and Zero Alternative Form. Rules 53, 57, 58, 59, 60 of the Central Civil Services Pension Rules, 2021 have been amended to incorporate this change.
It was told by the government that the purpose of simplification of pension forms is to make life easier for the pensioners so that after retirement the pensioners can live an active and respectable life. They should not have to visit government offices again and again for pension. During the launch of the new pension form, it was said that the introduction of ‘single simplified pension application form and future digital integration with e-HRMS’ is a big success for the pension department.

The matter will be resolved with Form 6-A
The new single pension form through Bhavishya System or e-HRMS will have to be filled for pension by all those central government employees who will now retire. It was informed by the government that the retiring officers, who are on e-HRMS, will fill Form 6-A for pension through e-HRMS and the retiring officers, who are not on e-HRMS, will fill the form 6-A for pension in future. Form 6-A will be filled through the system. Apart from this, it was also told that the pensioner will have to submit the form along with e-sign, Aadhaar based OTP.
The new pension form is integrated with the Bhavishya System or e-HRMS. The new pension form has been designed with the aim of simplifying the process for pensioners, thereby reducing the complexity of handling 9 separate forms and also significantly reducing the time and effort required. Lakhs of senior citizens are expected to benefit from this initiative, so that they will be able to handle their pension related work with ease and convenience.
Important changes in the pension process are expected due to the changes made in the new pension form and Bhavishya. This will simplify the submission of pension forms for retiring employees and will also lead to end-to-end digitalization of the entire process of pension processing till the commencement of pension payment after retirement. This will ensure paperless functioning in the entire pension process. With a pensioner friendly user interface, pensioners no longer need to worry about which forms they have filled or which forms they have missed.
