Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvishli held a meeting in Tbilisi with Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar.
The meeting was held in a closed mode for the press; bilateral relations and issues of the regional agenda were discussed.
At a press conference following the meeting, the Georgian prime minister called the visit of the head of Indian diplomacy “historic”.
“This is the first visit of an Indian Foreign Minister to Georgia. Close political, trade and economic ties have developed between our countries, ”Garibashvishli said.
The prime minister drew attention to the fact that thousands of students from India study in Georgia, and also noted the attractiveness of conditions in his country for foreign investors. “Indian investors also work in our country. They have made serious investments for hundreds of millions of dollars, ”the Georgian prime minister said.
The Indian Foreign Minister expressed his satisfaction with being in Tbilisi, and also stressed the positive dynamics of bilateral relations.
