SC on NEET UG paper leak If sanctity of exam is lost, re-test has to be ordered: The Supreme Court today heard the medical entrance exam NEET UG, which is surrounded by many allegations including paper leak. The country’s top court said that the testing agency NTA, which conducts the NEET exam, will have to file an affidavit by 5 pm on Wednesday. Apart from this, the government and the CBI will also have to file an affidavit by 5 pm on Wednesday. The Chief Justice said that the affidavits of NTA, the central government and the CBI will be placed on record at 5 pm on Wednesday and will also be handed over to the petitioners’ lawyer.
The Supreme Court today directed the CBI to submit a status report of the investigation done so far in the NEET exam. Apart from this, the bench in the court has directed the NTA to inform about the time period between the incident of paper leak and the examination being conducted on May 5.
The hearing is being conducted by a three-member bench headed by Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud. During the hearing, the Supreme Court has said that all the lawyers appearing on behalf of the petitioner will present their arguments on why the examination should be held again and the Center will also give a complete list of dates. The next hearing on the case is scheduled for Thursday. The CBI can also file a status report.
