NEET UG 2024 retest result declared:NEET Testing Agency (NTA) released the results of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test UG i.e. NEET UG 2024 re-test held on 23 June this year. Along with NEET UG retest result, NTA released the revised rank list. Fresh scorecards have been issued for about 23.33 lakh candidates who appeared in the NEET UG exam. NTA had given grace marks to 1,563 candidates in the NEET UG exam held on May 5 this year to compensate for the loss of time due to the delay in starting of the exam at 6 centres. After facing a huge controversy, the testing agency cancelled the grace marks and conducted the exam again for these candidates, the results of which have now been released.

This will affect the rank of all the candidates
NEET UG 2024 exam was conducted on 5 May this year and the results were declared on 4 June. Before the results were announced, NTA released the provisional answer key for the NEET UG exam. The answer to a Physics question was challenged by more than 1500 candidates who appeared in this exam. NTA gave 5 marks to the candidates in lieu of the wrong answer. For the first time, 67 candidates scored 720 out of 720 marks in this exam. Some children got 719 and 718 marks. After a lot of controversy, NTA said that more than 1,500 candidates lost time due to the delay in starting the exam at the examination centers.
To compensate for this loss, grace marks were given to the candidates. The matter reached the Supreme Court. The country’s largest court ordered the NTA to remove the grace marks and conduct a re-examination for the candidates affected by the delay at the examination centers. Also, after removing the grace marks, the retest was made optional for the children. In the re-examination held at seven centers on 23 June 2024, 48 percent of the 1,563 candidates did not appear. NTA officials said that out of 1,563 candidates, 813 appeared for the examination again while the remaining 750 children opted to give up the grace marks. Now the question is whether the removal of grace and the re-test result will affect the rank of all the children. In such a situation, it is expected that after the removal of grace marks and now the release of the retest results, the rank of 23.33 lakh candidates may be affected. It is advised that all the candidates who appeared in the NEET exam this time should check their results once again.
