The atmosphere of excitement has been there since early morning at the My Tho Sunset Run 2024. More than 3,000 domestic and foreign athletes have excitedly entered the competition at distances of 5 km, 10 km, 21 km. and KUN Fun Run My Tho for 800 children to participate with a distance of 800 m.
With a uniquely designed running track covered with bright orange sunset light shining down on Rach Mieu Bridge and the poetic Tien River surface during the cool winter solstice days, thousands of footsteps harmonize in rhythm with the sunset to bring memorable experience for all participants.
This year’s running route is designed to cross central streets and prominent locations such as Thu Khoa Huan Statue, long-standing schools with outstanding architecture,… Each route is not only a challenge for runners. athletes but also a journey to discover the rustic but vibrant beauty of My Tho city, especially under the sunset to close 2024 and start a brighter 2025.
My Tho Sunset Run 2024 is directed and organized by the City People’s Committee. My Tho and tournament organization by professional sports event organizer Nexus Sport Events. This is the first running race in the region to be organized on a large scale in My Tho City, not only to enhance the spirit of sports in the community but also to promote the cultural and tourism beauty here.
In the three distances of 5 km, 10 km and 21 km, the difference between runners was only measured in seconds and there were many interesting breakthroughs at the finish line. At a distance of 21 km, Le Kim Duoc and Le Thi Bich narrowly beat runner-up Dang Anh Quyet and Le Thi Ha in just a few dozen seconds. Similarly, Nguyen Anh Tri surpassed Le Van Binh at a distance of 10 km in just 13 seconds and Pham Thi Thuy beat Doan Thi Hien by 33 seconds. In the 5 km content, victory was called by Nguyen Van Khang and Nguyen Ngoc Lan.
At the KUN Fun Run My Tho 2024 children’s running tournament, more than 800 young athletes from 6 – 10 years old in Tien Giang and surrounding areas enthusiastically participated.
