Union Home Minister Amit Shah said, “…my statement was distorted in the Rajya Sabha… first they also made public the edited statements of PM Modi. When elections were going on, my statements were edited using AI and a despicable act was done to broadcast it across the country and today they are distorting what I said for Ambedkar ji. I want to say this with clarity and also appeal to the media to present my complete statement before the public. I come from a party which can never insult Ambedkar. First Jan Sangh and then BJP have always tried to follow the principles of Ambedkar ji… BJP has done the work of further strengthening the reservation.”
Congress made fun of Baba Saheb
Union Home Minister Amit Shah said, “…when the discussion was going on in Parliament, it was proved how Congress opposed Baba Saheb Ambedkar. How Congress tried to make fun of Baba Saheb even after his death… As far as giving Bharat Ratna is concerned, Congress leaders have given Bharat Ratna to themselves many times. Nehru ji gave himself Bharat Ratna in 1955, Indira Gandhi gave herself Bharat Ratna in 1971 and Baba Saheb got Bharat Ratna in 1990, when Congress Party was not in power and there was a government supported by Bharatiya Janata Party…To Ambedkar Nehru’s hatred is well known…”
