Mutual Funds Investment :The last few months have been very good for the country’s equity market. Those investing in equity mutual funds have also benefited from this. There are many equity mutual funds in the country which have given more than 50% return in the last 9 months. Among these top performing funds, Quant Value Fund is at the forefront, which has given a tremendous return of 63.81%. After this, ITI Mid Cap Fund is at second place with a return of 60.27%, while Motilal Oswal Midcap Fund is at third place with a return of 54.92%. Invesco India Focused Fund has also performed well and given a return of 54.86%, while Bank of India Flexi Cap Fund has given a return of 53.83% and Quant Large and Mid Cap Fund has given a return of 53.52%.

Some flexi cap funds have also performed very well. For example, JM Flexicap Fund has given a return of 53.30% and Quant Flexi Cap Fund has given a return of 52.23%. Quant Mid Cap Fund also performed well with a return of 51.76%. Apart from these, ITI Small Cap Fund has given a return of 50.75% and JM Midcap Fund has given a return of 50.38%. Bandhan Small Cap Fund, Edelweiss Mid Cap Fund and NJ Flexi Cap Fund have also made it to the list of top returning funds with returns of 50.37%, 50.10% and 50.05% respectively.

Apart from these top funds, 243 other equity mutual funds have given returns ranging from 16.51% to 49.40% in the same 9 months. For example, the oldest ELSS fund, SBI Long Term Equity Fund, gave a return of 47.87%. The second largest mid-cap fund based on assets under management (AUM), Kotak Emerging Equity Fund, gave a return of 42.60%. Similarly, the largest small-cap fund, Nippon India Small Cap Fund, gave a return of 41.78%, while the largest mid-cap fund, HDFC Mid-Cap Opportunities Fund, gave a return of 40.61%.

Invest with caution
Although the returns of the mutual funds mentioned above are quite impressive, it should be kept in mind that the past performance of equity mutual funds does not guarantee similar returns in the future. Investors should not decide on investment or redemption based only on these figures.
